MEET OUR PASTOR
Pastor Ernest Reed, a native of Saginaw, Michigan, was born on July 21, 1962, to Mozella and Willie Reed. He is blessed with a loving family, including his devoted wife, Tammy Reed (formerly Tammy Miller), and their five wonderful daughters: Mar'Quita My'Osha, Ke'Shondra, Nakaja, and Hurlette.
Pastor Reed is a proud graduate of the Saginaw Public School system, completing his education in 1980. His passion for ministry and the Word of God led him to pursue theological studies, earning an Associate Degree in Theology from Siddell Baptist Seminary. He aspires to further his education with a Master’s in Biblical Studies, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to spiritual growth and excellence.
Answering the call to preach in 1994, Pastor Reed was licensed by his grandfather, Pastor Levi Patten, and ordained in 2002. Following his ordination, he fulfilled his God-given vision by organizing Greater Solid Baptist Church in 2003, starting with just seven members. Through faith, dedication, and steadfast leadership, the church has grown into a thriving ministry that continues to impact lives.
Pastor Reed’s vision is rooted in a single, unwavering principle: “To build and develop a kingdom of empowered people of God.” He firmly believes that God can use anyone to fulfill His purpose, no matter their background or circumstances.
In addition to his pastoral duties, Pastor Reed serves the community through his work with the SISD School System and Paradise Funeral Chapel. His dual roles exemplify his commitment to service, compassion, and making a difference both inside and outside the church walls.
Pastor Reed’s life and ministry are a testament to his dedication to spreading the gospel, empowering others, and serving as a beacon of hope and inspiration to those around him.
